Garde is one of the biggest chess clubs in Finland,
situating in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Garde was founded in 1998 as three former chess clubs were united: Gambiitti, Fischer-Caissa and Ilves.
Garde won the Finnish team league championship on seasons 2000-2001 and
2003-2004. Among it's members there are four grandmasters, three of them Finnish players.
The club room is located in Helsinki centre area in the quarter of Punavuori, address is Iso Roobertinkatu 36 D, 2nd floor. The entrance is at the Square of Fredrik (Fredrikintori). Please press buzzer number 51. Map
The club evenings are held on following Tuesdays at 6 pm:
January
2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
February 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th
March 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th
April 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th
May 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
The programme includes five-rounded tournament with reflection time 10 minutes + 5 seconds / move. Participation fee is 3 euros, for members 2 and youth under 20 of age the fee is 1 euro. The three best players of spring season are rewarded.
