The users are kindly asked to send their name, address, and closing date of their version to the author. This registration will be without any commitment for the users. Registered users will be informed about new versions available. PROTOS is thoroughly tested and approved in many tournaments. If any results are interpreted as program failure, the user is requested to send a copy of the program used and the data including a description of the problem to the author. The author will analyze the case and send a report and the latest version of PROTOS to the user. Using this way each user will contribute to improvements of PROTOS. To install PROTOS, please copy the content of the diskette to a subdirectory of a hard disk. Then call the program PROTZIP which will unpack the software, the initial data of 5 tournaments and both manuals of PROTOS. After installation the file PROTZIP is no longer necessary on hard disk for the use if PROTOS and may be deleted from the subdirectory. Warning: Calling PROTZIP from the diskette will fail due to the restricted storage capacity of the diskette.
